Heartland Coffee Roasters started in 2005 when Mal and Tara relocated from New Zealand to London and began roasting commercially out of a growing interest in speciality coffee, supplying cafés and restaurants around the city. In 2012 they moved to Llandudno in North Wales, arriving just as an independent coffee scene was developing along the North Wales coast.
The business is still run from North Wales and roasts across a broad range of single origins and blends, with a seasonal buying approach that tracks fresh harvest arrivals from Colombia, Brazil, Kenya, Ethiopia, and elsewhere. The Landmark Blend has been part of the range for more than 15 years.
Heartland sells online direct to consumers and supplies wholesale to cafés, operating with training support for its wholesale partners.
