Heartland Coffee Roasters started in 2005 when Mal and Tara began roasting commercially in London after moving from New Zealand. In 2012 they relocated the business to Llandudno on the North Wales coast, where it still operates from Unit 6, Cwrt Roger Mostyn on Builder Street.

The roastery doubles as a small bar and tasting space, open to the public Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00. The team roasts a seasonal range of single origins and blends across light to darker profiles, with coffees from Ethiopia, Kenya, Colombia, Brazil, Burundi, El Salvador, Peru and India.

Decaf is offered through the Swiss Water process. Heartland sells direct to consumers online, runs a subscription service and supplies wholesale customers with coffee, equipment and barista training covering espresso, milk texturing and filter brewing.

The Landmark Blend has been part of the range for over fifteen years, and the company describes its sourcing as working directly with farmers and cooperatives.
