Maison Dieu Coffee Roasters is based in the Old Sonoco building on Montrose Street, Brechin, and has been operating Brechin's first specialty coffee roastery since November 2021. The business runs cafes in Brechin and Broughty Ferry and reports having served over 500,000 cups.
It describes itself as an independent, ethically sourced roaster, with every batch traceable to individual farmers. The current line-up spans single origins from Brazil (Bom Jesus) and Colombia, alongside two house blends (Cookston Crescent and Four Seasons) and a Geisha lot tied to producer Carlos Arcila.
A travelling horsebox extends the brand to events around the country, and the roastery has supplied wholesale clients including Aston Villa's training ground. Community work includes free barista training sessions for local school pupils.
The company also publishes a colour-coded flavour guide aimed at making specialty coffee easier to navigate without prior knowledge.
