Weanie Beans started in 2007 as a market stall in west London, founded by Adeline, before growing into a roastery operation first in North London and then relocating to Buckinghamshire. Alongside the roasting business, the team opened a cafe called Heirloom and continue to run coffee bars at events across Europe, building bespoke setups for clients.

The company operates retail through subscriptions and online, and their packaging is made from LDPE4, a recyclable plastic that they note can be returned to any supermarket or council site accepting plastic bags. This stands in contrast to most foil-lined coffee bags, which are not recyclable.

Weanie Beans also sources through direct trade rather than Fairtrade certification, citing the argument that direct purchasing puts more money in the hands of producers.
