Wrexham Bean Co. was founded on Christmas Day 2021 by James and Rich, who saw that Wrexham had no specialty roastery of its own. Roasting began in 2022 from Rich's converted garage with a 3kg Toper roaster.

The business moved to a first commercial unit in 2024 and stepped up to a 10kg roaster, added a 15kg roaster in 2025, and in 2026 moved next door to a larger facility at Unit K1, Bryn Business Centre, Bryn Lane, where both roasters now run side by side. The roastery won the Food and Drink Award at the Insider Made in Wales Awards in 2025.

Rich's family connection to Italian coffee culture runs through the founding story: his grandfather, Antonio Priamo, came to Wales as an Italian prisoner of war during the Second World War and stayed. Origins on offer include Colombia, Uganda, Brazil and Burundi, with sourcing framed around traceability to producer and process.

Retail bags feature artwork based on Wrexham landmarks.
