Black Mountain Roast is a small speciality roaster based at Bridge Farmhouse in Michaelchurch Escley, Herefordshire, in the foothills of the Black Mountains on the Welsh border. Founders Simon and Mungo roast in small batches in a converted barn using a Probat roaster, working under the tagline that good coffee is a blend of art and science.

The current range covers single-origin coffees from Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Brazil, Costa Rica and Nicaragua, alongside house blends including Espresso, Breakfast, Simon's Blend and Mungo's Blend, plus a CO2 decaffeinated coffee drawn from Ethiopian, El Salvadoran, Papua New Guinean, Indonesian and Brazilian beans. They sell direct through a Shopify store with monthly and bi-weekly subscriptions, supply independent cafes, delis, restaurants and hotels with free local delivery, and source from small farms and co-operatives that trade fairly, even where they sit outside formal Fairtrade certification.
