Climpson & Sons has been part of the Broadway Market scene in Hackney since 2002, when founder Ian Burgess moved from a market coffee cart into a permanent site that had previously been a butchers. The cafe on Broadway Market serves coffee from the company's London Fields roastery nearby, and the site has become a fixture in the neighbourhood over more than two decades.
The roastery is a certified B Corporation and sources through direct trade across Ethiopia, Brazil, Rwanda, Honduras and Colombia. The flagship espresso, the Broadway Blend, is a bespoke seasonal coffee that changes to reflect what's available and at its best.
Alongside coffee, the cafe serves pastries and filled focaccia from Dusty Knuckle and sources food produce from local businesses. Climpson also supplies wholesale to office accounts and runs barista workshops.
