Colco Coffee is a family-run roaster based at Manor Farm in Eton Wick, Berkshire, with roots on a working coffee farm in Salazar, Colombia. Joe Shuttleworth runs the UK operation as managing director, while his wife Angela Rojas, who grew up in Salazar and learned the craft from her father Don Jose, leads roasting as master roaster.
Part of the original mission was to reinvest in regenerating the family farm, and the Salazar story still anchors the brand. The range now reaches beyond Colombia, with single origins from Ethiopia, Brazil, Vietnam and Honduras sitting alongside Colombian Supremo and a Colombian speciality decaf processed using the sugar cane method.
Roast styles span light, medium and dark, and the business sells direct to consumers, runs a subscription, and supplies wholesale customers and bean to cup machines. The Salazar connection, historically identified as the birthplace of coffee in Colombia, gives the sourcing story a specific geographic grounding that most UK roasters cannot match.
