Fuel and Fable is a speciality coffee roastery and shop in Christchurch, Dorset, built around the founder's twin loves of speciality coffee and automotive culture. Owner Matt opened what he describes as the first speciality coffee shop in Bedfordshire, an Icelandic-inspired cafe that grew into an award-winning venue, before founding his own direct-trade roastery.
He has worked as a barista trainer and consultant, and has used coffee to teach barista and soft skills to prisoners as part of rehabilitation programmes. In 2024 the business relocated to the New Forest, and the first Fuel and Fable cafe opened in a converted container site at 1a Reid Street, Christchurch.
The space doubles as a community hub for automotive and moto meets alongside small batch roasted blends and single origins. The brand previously traded as Full Bloom Coffee and that older domain now redirects to the Fuel and Fable site.
