Monsoon Estates is a family-run coffee roastery at Alscot Park near Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire. The business grew out of home roasting after the founders returned to the UK from years living in Europe and Australia and struggled to find good coffee.
A charity sale was the first commercial outing, and a customer who bought a Monsooned Malabar that day still buys from them, which gave the company its name. Chris originally sourced Toper roasters from Turkey, and the roastery has since added Probat machines, installed in 2013 and 2017.
Every batch is hand roasted and monitored from start to finish. The roastery has won Great Taste Awards in multiple years, including a two-star award for Nicaraguan Maragogype in 2012, with further wins in 2018 and 2023.
Monsoon Estates supplies wholesale customers, runs a customisable subscription, and offers Swiss Water decaffeinated Brazilian and Peruvian coffees alongside single origins from Tanzania, Ethiopia and Peru.
