Symva Coffee

Symva Coffee Roasters is based in Hove, with a coffee shop at 164 Church Road and a roastery on the same site. The business has an unusual and specific supply chain: the coffee it roasts comes primarily from the family's own farm, Hoyo Frio (the Cold Valley), a 13.5-hectare estate in San Gil in the Colombian Andes that has been in the family for over 30 years.

The farm produces around 15 tonnes of coffee per year and holds Rainforest Alliance certification. Because the farm is family-owned and the shop is run by the same family in Hove, Symva can genuinely claim a direct line from growing to roasting to serving, rather than simply working with a direct-trade importer.

Alongside the Colombian farm coffee, they also source a Guatemalan lot.
