Symva Coffee Roasters is a family-run roastery and coffee shop on Church Road in Hove, with the roastery operating downstairs from the cafe. The supply chain is unusually direct: most of what they roast comes from Hoyo Frio, the family farm in San Gil in the Colombian Andes.

The 13.5-hectare estate has been in the family for over 30 years, after an uncle and cousin bought the land they had been renting and committed to paying for it with its own harvest. The farm produces around 15 tonnes of coffee a year and holds Rainforest Alliance certification.

Alongside the Colombian farm coffee, Symva also roasts a Guatemalan lot and other single origins, all selected to a minimum 83-point Q grade. The cafe is open every day, dog and family friendly, and the team also offers wholesale partnerships built around training and ethical sourcing.
