Bean miles is a micro-roastery in Wetheral, a historic village on the River Eden near Carlisle in Cumbria. Founded by Chris in 2013 after enrolling on a roastery startup course at the London School of Coffee, the operation runs from a purpose-built space using a Coffee-Tech Engineering FZ-94 roaster, which the business uses for its precision in developing individual roast profiles.

All coffee is Arabica, sourced through established specialty importers and roasted to order in small batches. The setup has solar panels to offset some electricity use.

When Chris is not roasting, coffee sometimes gets delivered by bicycle.
