Penningtons is a family run tea and coffee roaster based at Unit 12 Kendal Business Park, on the southern edge of the Lake District. Founded by Gina and Dave Pennington in 2018, the business draws on a Kendal family heritage that the site traces back to 1709, alongside more than 50 years of combined experience in hospitality and retail beverages.

Green coffee is bought through DR Wakefield, a specialist family run importer, and roasted in small batches across espresso blends and single origins from Brazil, Africa and South America. The roastery runs on 100% renewable energy with solar panels on the roof, and over 95% of roastery waste is recycled.

Coffee bags are made from a single recyclable material accepted in household collections, and the Nespresso compatible pods are home compostable. Those pods featured in Olive Magazine's top 10 UK coffee pods, and the sister tea range has won Great British Food Awards in 2022 and 2023.
