Cribyn Coffee Company is a husband and wife roastery founded by Rhys and Gwen during lockdown in 2021, working out of a restored 300 year old coach house just outside Brecon in the Brecon Beacons. The company takes its name from one of the highest peaks in the range.
Rhys built his coffee experience at Marks and Spencer in the late 1990s and across years with Starbucks in the UK, Middle East and Africa, including a visit to Rwanda that shaped his commitment to fair grower relationships. Gwen leads cupping and selection alongside her work as a vet in Brecon.
Coffees are 100 per cent Arabica, roasted on a Probat machine the company describes as the only one of its kind in the UK as of October 2021. The current single origin range covers Brazil (Coach House No.1 from Mio farm in Monte Santo de Minas, plus a peaberry edition), Ethiopia (Rocko Mountain Reserve, Yirgacheffe) and Rwanda (Nyamasheke).
Cribyn supports Brecon Mountain Rescue and Treloar.
