Coffee roasters in Powys

Powys has 3 independent coffee roasters spread across rural mid Wales, and none of them are anywhere near each other. Cribyn Coffee Company was founded in 2021 by Rhys and Gwen, roasting in a restored 300 year old coach house just outside Brecon and named after one of the highest peaks in the Brecon Beacons. Footprint Coffee is run by Greg and Emma from the Welsh Marches at Presteigne, where the idea formed while paragliding over coffee farms in Colombia during a long trip through the Americas. Blue Monday roasts furthest north at Llanfyllin, working to a deliberately slow roast.

Powys is a driving county. Brecon in the south, Presteigne on the English border and Llanfyllin up in the north sit a long way apart, and the routes between them run through the Brecon Beacons and the borderland.
