Ffa Da, Welsh for Good Beans, is a small batch speciality roastery on the Cambrian coast in Llandanwg, Harlech, Snowdonia. It was founded in 2019 by a former science teacher who began home cupping experiments after struggling to find good coffee in North Wales.
The range is arabica only and rotates around six house coffees: single origins from Brazil (Bore Da), Peru (Halibalw) and Rwanda (Gwyl), two espresso blends (Hwre and Jiw Jiw) and a sparkling water decaf (Nos Da). Coffee is roasted in 4 to 6 kilo batches, posted weekly and sold direct from the website or collected from the roastery.
Retail bags are no longer sold through stockists, though the coffee can still be tasted at Maes Cafe. Sustainability is core: bags are fully compostable kraft paper, chaff goes back to local soil, and zero waste refills are offered for customers bringing their own container.
There is no formal subscription, but a Ffa Da Friend loyalty scheme gives free postage to regular 1kg buyers. The roastery has been featured in the Indy Coffee Guide for Wales.
