Hinba Coffee Roasters is based on the Isle of Seil on Scotland's West Coast, a small island linked to the mainland by the Clachan Bridge. The founders travelled the world before returning to their West Coast roots to roast coffee, and the brand leans heavily on the clean Hebridean air as part of the roasting environment.
The current range is a tight seasonal selection of single origins: Brazil from Donas, Costa Rica from Aquiares, Uganda from Kisinga, and a Colombia La Mariposa decaf. Coffees are sold as one-off bags, a single origin bundle, and via subscription, with a wholesale programme also offered.
Hinba positions itself as next-wave speciality coffee, naming the farms behind each origin and emphasising care for the people and places the coffee comes from. Equipment for home brewing, including AeroPress, Baratza grinders and Sage espresso machines, is sold alongside the coffee.
