Jolly Bean Roastery roasts small batch, ethically sourced speciality coffee from the heart of the Calder Valley, Yorkshire. Founder Joel spent years roasting at home on a 200g roaster before founding Jolly Bean in 2018 with a 1kg manual roaster, moving through a 2.5kg roaster nicknamed Tony to a 10kg Besca roaster.

Roasting now happens from an old mill in Sowerby Bridge, where Joel runs the roastery with his other half Lolly and a small team. The roastery is not yet open to the public, but Jolly Bean coffee can be bought at its sister business, a coffee bar called Giddy Arts in Saltaire, opposite Salts Mill, which also offers a plastic free refill service for old coffee bags.

The range includes single origin lots from El Salvador, Colombia, Ethiopia, Uganda and Brazil, a Saltaire Seasonal Blend, a Ugandan decaf called Lala Salama, and brewing gear.
