Kiss the Hippo is a London specialty roaster that opened its roastery in 2018 and has built a strong sustainability position. The roastery sits at Unit 33, Redburn Industrial Estate, Enfield, and is Soil Association organic certified, powered by 100% renewable energy and run on a Loring Smart Roaster.

Coffees are sourced through a mix of direct trade visits and trusted importers including Caravela, Falcon, Sucafina and Coffee Bird, with origins spanning Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Peru, Burundi, Honduras, Ecuador, South Sudan and China. The company describes itself as London's first carbon negative coffee brand, working with On A Mission on quarterly CO2 measurement and reforestation in Peru, Colombia and Nepal.

It claims to pay double the Fairtrade price to producers and refuses coffees harvested more than 18 months ago. The team runs cafes across the city including Richmond, Soho, Mayfair, Chelsea, Fitzrovia, Spitalfields and the City, and is an SCA Premier Training Campus offering courses and workshops.

UK Barista Championship titles followed in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
