Modern Standard Coffee

Modern Standard Coffee has a roastery in Glenrothes, Fife, a café in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, and a coffee studio in London. The Glenrothes site, opened in December 2019, runs Diedrich roasters at 70kg, 25kg, 12kg and 2.5kg capacity, giving the business the flexibility to handle small-lot specialty coffees alongside larger commercial orders without compromising roast quality.

The Edinburgh café in Bruntsfield opened in December 2020. The business has been building direct producer relationships since 2015, with a stated focus on sourcing directly and paying a fair price to ensure producers have a financially sustainable future.

Coffees include origins from Brazil, Ethiopia, Colombia, Indonesia, Costa Rica and El Salvador, roasted to a medium profile across the range. Wholesale, subscriptions and click-and-collect for local Fife customers round out the commercial model.
