Rainhill Coffee Roasters sits in the historic village of Rainhill near Liverpool, close to the George Stephenson Skew Bridge, the world's first bridge to cross a railway at an angle. The roastery grew out of a specialty coffee shop established there in 2011, with roasting added only in 2020 after close to a decade of formal SCA training.
Head trainer Neil holds an SCA Diploma and runs a full suite of accredited courses on-site, covering barista skills, brewing, sensory evaluation and roasting from foundation through to professional level. Training is a central offer alongside the roasting and retail side of the business, making it one of the few UK roasteries to run a full SCA course programme in-house.
