Roaring Stag Coffee

Roaring Stag Coffee is based at Ballater Business Park in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, in the Cairngorm Mountains. The roastery has been operating since 2015 and is run by Ruaridh, who left the British Army after 14 years of service to establish it.

The transition from military to roastery is relevant in that the discipline and precision carry through in how the operation is run. Roaring Stag sells online with a café on site in Ballater and uses fully recyclable packaging across its range.

The roastery supplies both retail customers and businesses. The Cairngorms location and the founder's background give the operation a distinct identity within the Scottish speciality coffee scene, which is more concentrated in the central belt.
