MacBeans has been roasting coffee and selling tea from Aberdeen since 1989, making it one of the longer-established independent roasters in Scotland. The business runs from a city-centre shop on Little Belmont Street, open Monday to Saturday for click-and-collect and walk-in trade.
Alongside the roastery and coffee range, MacBeans carries a substantial tea offer that includes a wide selection of decaffeinated black teas. Coffee origins listed on the current site span Indonesia (Sumatra), India, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala and Papua New Guinea.
The roastery offers a six-month Roaster's Choice subscription in 250g, 500g and 1kg sizes, suggesting a curated rotation rather than a fixed line-up. The combination of roasting and specialist tea retailing under one roof remains unusual and reflects the breadth the business has built over more than three decades.
