Roasting Plant is an American-born coffee concept with five London cafes, in Gracechurch Street, London Bridge, The Strand, High Holborn and South Molton Street. The business is built around a proprietary in-store roasting and brewing system called Javabot, which roasts beans in micro-batches inside each cafe and moves them through pneumatic tubes to be ground and brewed to order.

The technology, rather than provenance storytelling or named producer partners, is the defining feature of the operation. The UK site describes itself as 'the only coffee retailer that roasts in every store' and offers single origins including Jamaican Blue Mountain and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe alongside Peru, Brazil and Sumatra.

Pricing is in pounds and a subscription option is available. This is a multi-site cafe chain with built-in roasting rather than a UK independent roastery in the speciality sense.
