Root and Branch is a Belfast specialty roaster founded by Simon Johnston and Ben Craig, now marking ten years in coffee. The team roasts on a small Giesen machine, focusing on seasonal single origin coffees sourced through long-running producer relationships, including La Cruz farm in El Salvador owned by Harry Leath.
Coffee is sold through Discover and Core subscriptions that ship worldwide, alongside a wholesale programme supplying cafes, bars, restaurants, offices and hotels. Alongside the roastery operation on Jameson Street, the company runs a coffee shop at Ormeau Baths, where food is served on a terrazzo floor.
Origins on rotation have included Brazil, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia and Indonesia. Root and Branch was named among the world's top 50 roasters by Roastful, and the brand also sponsors NI Bitcoin.
