S.D. Bell calls itself Ireland's oldest independent coffee roasters and tea blenders.
The firm was founded in 1887 by Samuel David Bell, who came to Belfast from Stewartstown, County Tyrone, and bought a small grocery business before building it into a specialist tea and coffee merchant. The company moved to its current Knock headquarters in 1973, which now houses the retail shop, coffee roastery, tea blending facility and the Leaf and Berry coffee bar.
Coffee is sold across medium, medium dark, dark and speciality roast ranges, alongside capsules, instant coffee and coffee subscriptions. The business also blends and sells a wide range of teas from the same premises.
A dedicated wholesale page invites business to business enquiries. Several of the coffees and teas have won Great Taste Awards.
