Surrey Hills Coffee was founded in 2014 by Chris and Monika, who drew on years of experience working with coffee and coffee machines before starting their own roastery. The business began in Forest Green and later moved to Abinger Hammer.

Roasting is done on a 10kg machine for the main range and a 2kg machine for development work. The lineup centres on named Surrey Hills blends such as Blackheath, Box Hill, Holmbury Hill, Pitch Hill and Cottage Blend, all available in filter and espresso formats, alongside seasonal releases and single estate coffees including a Uganda natural from the Rwenzori Mountains.

A full decaf called Night Flight blends Brazil and Colombia using primarily the CO2 method and occasionally Swiss Water. Wholesale customers can commission bespoke signature coffees roasted to specification.

The business operates as an online retailer with a stockist network and no customer-facing cafe.
