Trading Post Coffee Roasters opened its first coffee house on Ship Street in Brighton in January 2017, combining a coffee bar with a food menu. The format proved popular and the company expanded to Kensington Gardens and Cliffe High Street in Lewes, growing to 10 coffee houses across Sussex by 2024 with sites in Brighton, Lewes, Chichester, Worthing and Horsham.
Roasting now happens at a dedicated roastery on the outskirts of Brighton, where signature blends, single origins and seasonal coffees are roasted fresh daily. The roastery houses a training hub used to deliver barista training to wholesale partners, who number in the hundreds across the UK.
Trading Post is Rainforest Alliance certified and Soil Association Organic certified, and the team describes itself as working toward B Corp status. The roasting team draws on three generations of coffee roasting heritage.
