Works Coffee Roasters is a husband-and-wife operation run by Jim and Claire from a cafe and small roastery at 160 Cavehill Road in north Belfast. The name comes from the nearby Waterworks park, where the business began in 2014 as a mobile coffee van.

Importing and roasting began in 2019. The cafe is compact with a handful of indoor seats and an outdoor space facing Cave Hill.

Green beans are sourced through two importers: Viva Coffee in Ireland and Mercanta in London. The business particularly looks for farms using agro-ecological methods and investing in local communities.

Works delivers UK-wide and is working towards extending to all-Ireland. The cafe is open Tuesday to Sunday.
