47 Degrees Coffee Roasters is a one-man operation run by Aidy Wragg from Unit 24 on Bailey Brook Business Park in Langley Mill, Derbyshire. Aidy started the business in 2017 after being made redundant from factory work, with no prior background in coffee.
The name nods to the bean belt, the 47-degree strip between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn where most of the world's coffee is grown. Aidy hand-roasts in small batches each week and ships in fully recyclable, post-box friendly bags with free postage on every order.
The range covers single origins from Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Mexico and Papua New Guinea, plus a handful of blends, a charity blend, and decafs including a Mountain Water processed Mexican La Laja. Subscriptions, gifts and trade orders are all available.
The roastery is industrial-unit based and visits are by appointment only. The work has earned 29 Great Taste Awards from the Guild of Fine Food and a mention in The Times.
