Applecross Roastery was founded by David on the Applecross peninsula in the north west Highlands, one of the most remote roasteries in the country, and opened in April 2025. The approach is deliberately narrow.

Only speciality grade green coffee, ethically sourced, with each coffee taken through test batches before a production roast and roasted to its own set of parameters based on the bean and the origin. The range runs to a handful of coffees at a time, currently single origins from Ethiopia, Guatemala and Uganda alongside a house blend named after Bealach na Ba, the mountain pass that climbs into Applecross.

Three month and six month subscriptions are available. The roastery leans on its setting for its identity.

The Gaelic word for Applecross is A Chomraich, meaning the sanctuary, a reference to the monastery founded there by Saint Maelrubha in the year 673.
