Blossom Coffee Roasters launched in Manchester in 2020 with sourcing transparency at the heart of the business. Since their first year of trading they have published the prices paid for green coffee, and in 2022 became the second UK roaster to sign The Pledge, the international transparency standard agreed at the Hamburg colloquium in 2018.
They work exclusively with one supply chain per origin and commit to buying from the same producers each year, building long-term relationships rather than chasing microlots. Roasting takes place on a Loring S35 in small batches, powered by 100% renewable energy.
They publish an annual impact report, donate 1% of sales through 1% For The Planet, and have backed World Coffee Research since their first day of trading. Coffee bags are made from up to 83% post-consumer recycled material with FSC-certified labels printed in vegetable-based inks.
Wholesale partners across Manchester and the wider region include Pollen Bakery, Higher Ground, Oscillate Coffee, Grace and Savour, and Blanchflower.
