Boona Boona started in a garden shed in Totterdown, Bristol, before moving to a 10kg Roastmax roaster in an industrial unit in Staple Hill. They roast a rotating range of single origins from Rwanda, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, Peru, Brazil and Indonesia, alongside their Carnival espresso blend and an EA sugarcane decaf from Colombia.

Their Colombia Excelso is certified organic and fairtrade, and the Indonesia Mandheling is fairtrade. The brand commits 10% of profit to Avon Needs Trees, a South West charity that buys land for woodland creation and rewilding in the River Avon catchment.

The relationship goes beyond money: the team also volunteers and joins planting days at sites like Hazeland. Origin bags are illustrated to celebrate the producing country, reflecting a stated aim of making specialty coffee feel welcoming rather than gatekept.
