Coffee Bean Shop

Coffee Bean Shop was founded in 2008 by Lizzie Powell and is based in Ashford, Kent. The business began as a personal response to the gap between supermarket coffee and the freshly roasted beans Powell had discovered at a Covent Garden coffee shop, and has grown into a roastery selling wholesale coffee to trade customers across Europe as well as direct to consumers.

Coffee is hand roasted over flame daily and dispatched freshly roasted to order, typically within 24 hours. Single origins are a core part of the range, with beans from countries including Ethiopia, Kenya, Colombia, Jamaica, Nepal, Hawaii, Indonesia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Rwanda, the Galapagos and India.

The team have visited the farms of most of the coffees they source, and say their sales have helped one partner build a school. Decaf is sold chemical free, using Swiss Water and Mountain Water processes.

The company also offers private and white label coffee for trade customers, and claims the title of the UK's number 1 rated roaster on Trustpilot.
