Curve Coffee Roasters was founded in 2016 by Tereza and Jon, who relocated from London to the Margate coast with a second-hand roaster. They began roasting from the back of Cliffs, a community cafe, before establishing their own premises at Unit 14, Copperleaf Business Park, Dane Valley Road, CT10 3AT.

The team has grown to around 15 people, and they operate a flagship cafe at 12 The Centre, Margate, CT9 1JG. Sourcing is built on long-term direct partnerships with smallholder farmers, working through carefully selected export and import partners including Falcon, Raw Material, Primavera, Muraho Trading Company and Red Beetle.

Current origins include Rwanda, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Ethiopia and Burundi. Featured coffees include Rugali and Vunga from Rwanda, Saul Cerqueda from Mexico, and Finca El Paraiso from Colombia.

The business publishes an annual Impact Report and runs workshops, events and a subscription service, with a stated mission to make coffee kinder by improving value for growers and protecting ecosystems.
