Coffee World has been roasting in Milton, Cambridge since 1984, supplying cafes, coffee shops and home brewers across the UK for four decades. The roastery runs a 60kg Vittoria and a 15kg Giesen, producing heritage espresso blends, filter blends and a rotating range of single origins from Indonesia, Kenya, Costa Rica and Uganda.
The site houses a barista training academy and the Espresso Bar at 135 Cambridge Road, which opened in spring 2024 as the public face of the wholesale and training operation. Sustainability runs through the business: solar panels power the roastery, an electric van handles local Cambridgeshire deliveries, and bags are recyclable with at least 70% post-consumer content.
The Coffee World Change programme, also launched in 2024, commits 1% of annual profits to projects in coffee belt countries, and the Masaba coffee from Uganda supports the Friends of Mothers Initiative working with women farmers across seven villages.
