Frazer's Coffee Roasters was founded in Sheffield in 2014, roasting from the Arundel Coach House on Arundel Street in the city's old cutlery district. Founder Frazer started out roasting in his back garden, then built his own machine using his mechanical background and Sheffield steel before scaling up to a dedicated roastery.
The team of six roasts daily on the custom-built drum, working with cooperatives across more than seven origin countries on a directly traded model the business describes as ethical and Fairtrade. Single origins on the menu include Peru Tunki, the first coffee they direct-traded in 2014, alongside Uganda Rwenzori Kalingwe, Brazil Cristais Paulistas from Fazenda Bom Jesus, and Colombia Planadas from Tolima.
Blends include the flagship Freightline, Full Monty Espresso and the dark Steel City. Both Freightline and Full Monty Espresso hold one-star Great Taste awards from 2021.
The roastery offers wholesale, subscriptions, barista training and a decaf Peru processed by CO2. Visitors can see the roasting in action from the on-site shop.
