Grey Seal Coffee is a North Norfolk roaster founded in 2012, bringing third wave coffee to the region from a working farmyard at Manor Farm Barns in Glandford. The team roast on a light profile to draw out the character of each origin, sourcing green coffee directly through origin trips and ethical relationships rather than relying solely on importers.
Current single origins include Indonesia Barokah Kerinci, Colombia Huila, Guatemala Huehuetenango and a decaf Brazil Minas Gerais, alongside a Two Bean Espresso blend. Beans are sold online with rolling, three and six month subscription options, with wholesale supplied to cafes and businesses.
The farmyard houses a cafe, training centre and bakeries in shipping containers, and visitors are welcome daily except Christmas. Two further cafes operate in Sheringham (9 to 11 High Street) and Cromer (24 High Street).
The roastery is a member of 1% for the Planet and has been recognised with multiple Great Taste Awards including a three star, named Best in Norfolk at the EDP Food and Drink Awards, and featured in the Telegraph, Marie Claire, Wired and the Sunday Times.
