Hot Numbers Coffee

Hot Numbers Coffee is a Cambridgeshire roastery and cafe business now marking 15 years of trading. The roastery sits at Dunsbridge Turnpike in Shepreth, with two cafes in Cambridge on Gwydir Street and Trumpington Street.

The Shepreth site doubles as an events venue, hosting pizza nights and gigs alongside daily cafe service. Coffee is roasted on a 30kg Giesen with integrated software for batch consistency, supplying the cafes, a wholesale list of UK cafes and restaurants, and a Coffee Club subscription.

Origins on the current menu include Rwanda (Coproca, Kirambo), Ethiopia (Bette Buna) and Guatemala (Filadelfia), with single origins sitting alongside blends and a decaf. The team describes coffee as ethically sourced from farms they know personally, with fair compensation for producers, though no formal certifications are claimed on site.

Wholesale customers receive equipment, training and ongoing support, and the business runs barista training and sells coffee equipment. Founded by Simon, whose background combines engineering, music and coffee, the operation remains a distinctly shaped fixture in the East of England speciality scene.
