The Island Tea & Coffee Co. is a tea and coffee producer based at Pritchetts Way in Rookley on the Isle of Wight, established in 1982. The company hand roasts coffee on a state-of-the-art Topper roaster, with Mike Townsend leading as Master Roaster, and each machine capable of producing over 50 tonnes per year.
A team of 16 supports the operation, which now serves homes and businesses across the Isle of Wight, Hampshire, the wider UK and North America. The business is SALSA accredited, a Hampshire Fare member and affiliated with the British Coffee Association.
Its coffee and tea reach drinkers via Morrisons stores across the South Coast, Red Funnel Isle of Wight Ferries and the Isle of Wight Festival, with the fastest deliveries leaving the roastery 35 minutes after roasting. Public coffee roasting experience sessions cover the coffee journey, the flavour wheel and tasting single origin coffees alongside blends.
