Kin Coffee is a small Kent roastery based in Staplehurst, founded by Greg and Kate after relocating from London during the pandemic. The business started in a converted garden potting shed, named Kin after a robin's nest the founders discovered while planning the original mobile setup.

It grew through farmers markets and online sales before adding a wholesale arm and, in 2023, opening a coffee shop in Staplehurst serving espresso, filter and food from local producers. Kin has a clear preference for naturally processed coffees, particularly from Latin America, and roasts on a Bellwether electric machine bought with grant funding.

Long-standing partners include Fazenda Bom Jesus, a family-run farm in Brazil the founders have visited, with additional green beans sourced through Falcon Specialty in Lewes. Current single origins span Brazil, Uganda and El Salvador, alongside a Colombian sugarcane process decaf called Freebird.

The roastery was the first in the UK to package freshly roasted coffee in glass jars with a degassing valve, earning a feature in The Times, and also offers home compostable pouches.
