Origin Coffee is a Cornwall-based specialty roaster with the roastery in Porthleven and coffee shops in Bristol, London (Shoreditch, the British Library, Southwark), Edinburgh and Porthleven. The site describes more than two decades championing exceptional coffee and the business is B Corp certified.
Sourcing runs on a direct trade model built around three principles, price, contract and relationship, with prices that always sit above both the Fairtrade minimum and the C market, formal contracts with producers, and farm visits at least every two years. Origins include Brazil, El Salvador, Colombia, Peru and East Africa, with named producer partners such as Fernando Lima and Carlos Pola in El Salvador and Alo Coffee in Ethiopia.
Roasting is on Loring Smart Roast equipment using Futuria Green Gas, and Origin has committed to net zero across all scopes well before 2050 via the Science Based Targets initiative. Coffee bags switched in July 2024 to fully recyclable LDPE with a minimum 70% recycled content.
