Penelope Coffee is a family led micro roaster in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, working to a philosophy of honour the land, cherish the farmer, elevate the bean. Green beans are bought from like minded importers who work directly with farming communities on health care, education and infrastructure, and only speciality graded coffee is used, drawn from the top 20 per cent available on the international market.
The range includes single origin coffees alongside a Sweet and Smooth blend. Coffee bags are carbon neutral and certified recyclable, with pods made from recycled aluminium.
Customers can visit the roaster door to buy coffee ground on the spot, and the business runs a wholesale programme with staff training and machinery supply for cafes and offices. Penelope Coffee has been named Coffee Roaster of the Year 2025/26 for South England by the Prestige Awards.
