Rounton Coffee roasts from a converted granary in East Rounton, North Yorkshire, where a small team grew the business out of farmers markets and hand-written roast profiles into a multi-award-winning specialty roastery. They roast on Loring convection machines, the S35 Kestrel and S15 Falcon, whose recirculating airflow cuts gas use and helps preserve flavour clarity in the cup.
The range leans towards lighter roasting and rotates through Kenya, Ethiopia, Colombia, Peru, Rwanda, Uganda and other origins, with regular forays into less common lots and processes. Sourcing combines direct producer relationships and trusted importers, including a long-running partnership with Agri Evolve in Uganda, where Rounton pays an extra 60p per kilo of green coffee into the ACE 2030 community and environment project.
The roastery is a member of 1% for the Planet, donating 1% of annual sales to environmental causes, and ships in carbon-neutral, home-recyclable bags. A reusable tub scheme serves local wholesale customers.
