Stirlingshire has 3 independent coffee roasters with unusually distinct stories. Alfie & Co Coffee Roasters in Killearn was launched by Paul Equi in 2018 carrying forward four generations of roasting craft: his great-grandmother started roasting coffee in Tuscany to her own profiles for the hotel and cafe she ran in the Apennines, his grandfather Alfie carried those profiles to Scotland, and the family's recipes still anchor the modern range. Loch Lomond Coffee was founded in 2017 by brothers Stuart and David Fraser in Balmaha on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond, making it the first coffee roaster on the loch. Stirling Coffee operates from 8 King Street in the city centre as a roastery and coffee shop, with beans graded at 83 or above on the SCA scale.
Stirling city centre (Stirling Coffee at 8 King Street) is the easiest stop. Killearn (Alfie & Co) and Balmaha on Loch Lomond (Loch Lomond Coffee) are short drives out into the rural west of the county.
