Coffee Knoydart roasts on the Knoydart peninsula, one of the most remote inhabited corners of mainland Britain, reachable only by sea or on foot. Founded in 2019 by Louise in the small hamlet of Doune, the business moved into a new phase in 2025 when Will took over the helm and shifted production to Inverie Village.
Green beans arrive across the water via the local Mallaig ferry, and the roaster runs on 100% renewable energy from Knoydart's community hydro electric system. The range covers single origins from Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Brazil, alongside a Mexican Mountain decaf and a set of taste-of bundles.
Stock is sold direct via the website with UK postal delivery, and supplied to local outlets including The Old Forge community pub, Knoydart Tearoom and the community shop, with further accounts across Lochaber. The Guatemalan beans were awarded a Great Taste Award in 2024.
