Cult Coffee Roasters opened in 2014 as a cafe on Buccleuch Street in Edinburgh's Newington neighbourhood, growing from there into a roastery that now supplies cafes and businesses across the UK. Roasting takes place in small batches at Unit 13, Turnhouse Court, Brownrigg Yards in Newbridge, with production scheduled Monday to Wednesday for freshness.

The range leans on seasonality, with single origins from producers including Sidney Kibet in Kenya, Tejao in Mexico, the Highland Coop in Guatemala and Miladiz Mejia Reyes in Honduras, alongside a Colombian decaf. The cafe at 104 Buccleuch Street is open 8am to 5pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm at weekends, doubling as a retail space for beans and brewing kit.

Wholesale partners get free training, machine maintenance and competition coaching. The team describes itself as straight-up coffee people, not an actual cult, with over a decade of roasting experience between them.
