Indigo Valley has been roasting since 2005, when it set out to bring together Fairtrade and speciality grade coffee at a time when the two rarely met. The roastery, run as Liberty Java Ltd from Halfway House in Burford, has built a record of 13 Great Taste Awards alongside steady commercial growth.
It became carbon neutral in 2018, achieved ISO certified carbon negative status across all business operations by 2022, and was certified as a B Corporation in July 2025. Sourcing is Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance or fully traceable micro-lot, and the business is a member of the Slave Free Alliance.
Indigo Valley supplies a wide customer mix: cafes, offices and hospitality clients, more than 2,000 churches and charities over the past 15 years, and home drinkers. It is also a UK distributor for Franke, Jura, WMF, Bravilor and Coffetek bean to cup machines, plus La Marzocco, Faema and Fracino espresso machines.
Decaf is offered using the Swiss Water process, and an organic espresso sits in the core range.
