Modern Standard Coffee is a Scottish speciality roaster founded by Lynsey Harley, with a roastery at 38 Cavendish Way, Glenrothes, Fife, a café at 49 Barclay Place in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, and a London Coffee Studio at 6A Clink Street. A separate service department operates from Harlow Business Park in Essex.

The business sources on a direct trade model with four published criteria: coffees must score above 82 on the cupping table, prices paid to farmers must exceed C-Market or Fairtrade by at least 25%, producers must follow sustainable and responsible community practices, and the team visits farms at least once per harvest. Origins on offer include Brazil, Ethiopia, Colombia, Indonesia, Costa Rica and El Salvador, with single-origin lots alongside blends.

Modern Standard says it was the first UK roastery to sign up to 1% For The Planet, and runs a coffee bag recycling programme. The roastery brings together speciality coffee at scale, technical support and wholesale supply from one Fife site.
